Alicia Lyons Laufer
Ms. Laufer is the managing, founding partner of Rubinton & Laufer, PA. As Managing Partner, Ms. Laufer handles all aspects of the day-to-day firm-related management matters. Ms. Laufer focuses her litigation practice in the area of third-party personal injury, premises liability defense, civil rights defense and insurance coverage disputes. Ms. Laufer has extensive trial and appellate experience, having argued the classifi cation of investment instruments, and the constitutionality of state statutes, and many other issues, before a number of trial and appellate courts, including the United States Court of Appeal, Eleventh Circuit.
Ms. Laufer attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina, and graduated with honors in Accounting. After working at a regional accounting firm in Atlanta, Georgia, where she conducted national audits for governmental clientele throughout the United States focusing on internal fraud investigations, Ms. Laufer attended Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad Law Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, graduating Cum Laude in 2000. While attending law school, she was a member of the Nova Southeastern University Law Review and served as Chief Advocate of the Nova Southeastern University Moot Court Honor Society. Ms. Laufer was an active Moot Court Advocate and participated in several national competitions, placing second in the Tulane National Invitational. She also received the Goodwin Scholarship for each of the three years she attended Nova Southeastern. Ms. Laufer clerked at the Offi ce of the Attorney General, as well as for several private fi rms, which contributed to her experience in insurance, commercial litigation, and federal and appellate practice.
Ms. Laufer began her legal career as an associate with the law fi rm of Adorno & Zeder, PA, n/k/a Adorno & Yoss, PA., where she represented both private and public corporations in litigation and transactional matters throughout the United States and Europe in the areas of domestic and international insurance, commercial, regulatory, and federal commercial and securities matters.
