Cory S. Laufer

Mr. Laufer oversees a number of lawyers who practice with him in the areas of first-party property defense, personal injury defense, premises liability defense, automobile and trucking negligence, and workers’ compensation defense. He has tried cases before juries throughout the State of Florida, including the Eleventh, Twelfth, Fifteenth, Seventeenth, and Eighteenth Judicial Circuits of Florida and has handled appeals before Florida’s First and Second District Courts of Appeal. Mr. Laufer is a member of the Florida Bar and is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida.

Mr. Laufer graduated with a Bachelors’ Degree in Journalism from the University of Florida in 1995, where he was published in both The Independent Florida Alligator and Orange & Blue Magazine.  After a brief career in advertising, Mr. Laufer attended Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad Law Center, obtaining his J.D. in 1999. While in law school, Mr. Laufer was a staff member of the ILSA Journal of International and Comparative Law, as well as a recipient of the prestigious Goodwin Fellowship.

Throughout his training, Mr. Laufer was a clerk for the Broward County Public Defender’s Office, various private attorneys and fi rms, and tried a number of jury cases as a Certified Legal Intern for the Broward County State Attorney’s Office. Upon graduation, Mr. Laufer commenced his career as an associate with the West Palm Beach office of the law firm of Cole, White & Billbrough, P.A., n/k/a Cole, Scott & Kissane, P.A.  In this position, he defended various individuals and business entities in commercial litigation, personal injury, employment discrimination, and association rights.

Mr. Laufer continued defending individuals and business entities as a staff counsel attorney for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company.  There, his practice focused on personal injury, premise liability, PIP, and workers’ compensation defense.  He then accepted a position with the firm of Charouhis, Fandino, Lopez & Wright, P.A., where his practice focused primarily on workers’ compensation and personal injury defense.
