Ela M. Hernandez
Ela M. Hernandez practices in the area of first party property.
Ms. Hernandez received a B.A. degree in Political Science and International Relations from Florida International University, graduating cum laude. She received her J.D. from the University of Florida Fredric G. Levin College of Law, where she received the International Law Book Award and Pro Bono Certificate for Outstanding Achievement (250+ hours). Ms. Hernandez is a member of the Florida Bar.
Ms. Hernandez began her career as a Judicial Clerk for Judge Victoria Platzer of the State of Florida 11th Judicial Circuit Court. She has also worked in private practice firms, in the areas personal injury, commercial litigation, business entity formation, and estate planning, among others. She is also very active community service, as the founding member of Students Working for Equal Rights (SWER), a member of the Juniors’ Executive Committee of the League Against Cancer, Inc., and the Outreach Director of the Coalition of Hispanics Integrating Spanish Speakers through Advocacy and Services (CHISPAS).
Ms. Hernandez has written a paper published in the journal Women Moving Forward: Volume II, New Castle England; Cambridge Scholars Press in 2007, entitled: Advancing Contradiction: Migration, Traditional Life, and Higher Education in an Atmosphere of Oppression.
